Looking forward to partying with you!
Trams booked!
oops, 29.09 - 01.10 is the correct date.
(apparently I'm still not fully recovered from this years Deadline)
hotel booked
ok why not
yay
Berlin is a wonderful city - maybe we'll make the trip this time as my wife and I want to visit the city again and come to the party :)
Guess which theme we will have for 2023 - Brutalism!
...we're cooking something together. Maybe it's a good time now to start planning your trip :)
Tram ticket purchased! (I got to make this joke every year don't I)

will there be an indoor sleeping spot? (would also sleep below the table if allowed xD)

krl: sleeping inside the hall will be possible again, we might also be able to provide a designated sleeping hall again, but we need to verify this with the location. Will be able to tell for sure in 2 weeks time, after the next meeting with them.
sorry if this was unclear:
- sleeping inside the main hall: yes
- designated sleeping hall: maybe, we need to double check.

How do you do, fellow kids?
After the smash success that was the 1 cube 1 plane challenge that dominated last year's 3-D compo, let's try to repeat that and make it even better :)
For that I've updated my text on how to do anaglyph in a way that it doesn't suck at the party place, now with tips on how to set up your renderer and a link to an example (which actually won last year's compo):

Basically: There's a lot of physics involved in stereoscopic imaging on a big screen, it's really easy to screw it up in a way that completely kills the 3D effect and makes people's brains hurt, and your home setup really isn't a good indicator of whether it works at the party. Better science this, for great success!

Listen to this guy, he is right! Source: Did exactly what he suggested last year; worked perfectly.

Some more news!
Website online & Tickets available
- The new website is online under: https://demoparty.berlin
- Tickets are available for sale online as well. As always we will also sell tickets at the door.
Compo Rules finalized
We finalized the competition rules. Check them out on the competition page.
New and noteworthy:
- New rules for AI generated content within our compos. (in short: needs to be declared transparently, pure AI content is forbidden)
- Compo PC specs are final
- Regarding entries shown in DOSBox: For the most authentic 90s experience, DOSBox MIDI output will be played through a Roland SC-88 MIDI sound module instead of Windows’ built-in MIDI synthesizer.
- The theme for the themed photo compo is: Brutal(-ism)
As always we welcome remote contributions in all our competitions. We look forward to your entries!
Flights and accommodation booked! So, see you at Deadline!
I've heard rumours of a pretty strong Finnish turnout this year..

So… Make the 3D better in general, or is "1 plane, 1 cube, 1 better" this year's challenge? :)
I meant the former, aka make the 3D better, but that already is a challenge :D
(just not THE challenge. If there's a "the" challenge. We'll find out.)

More news:
Return of the sleeping hall
As in pre-covid times, we will be able to provide a separate sleeping-hall in the backstage area again, we hope that will make your plannings easier. If your plan to sleep there please make sure to bring a proper "Isomatte"/ sleeping pad and sleeping bag with you because although the room is heated the floor could be cold. Pro tip: You can bring a hot-water bag and fill it at the Infodesk to have it warm and cuddly. ;)
