artpacks and pouet.net
category: general [glöplog]
i must agree with dipswitch: no artpacks into
pouet.net (they have nothing coded) but please
comment about this. i know that some idiots
still keep posting packs into pouet (like we really
care).

who are you, shut up
man, i hate the discussion style at pouet... why can't you say something about the topic or just not write anything at all, ile?
there's tons of "artscene" sites with reviews, etc of artpacks. no need to add them here aswell.
fuck you, jazzman
yep, that's exactly what i'm talking about, ile... i hope pouet is not representative for the scene in total. maybe it's just that most of the sane people have turned away from this forum already.
concerning the topic: i don't think artpacks belong here. home videos as wild demos are too much of an exception already; wild demos should be demos on exotic platforms, nothing else.

DON NOT FEED THE TROLLS! :)
anyway, no artpacks on pouet please.

now, all of you,
YOU SUCK
YOU SUCK
good idea, skypher, but there's just too many of them...
well what about animation's then, they're done in 3dsmax. i wouldnt call them coded either. stop dissing acid stuff \:
no artpacks on pouet. i know what i'm talking about. i am kinda involved in textmode art myself, and i know that there are THOUSANDS of artpacks out there. what if someone came on an idea to backfill them all here ? MAJOR SPAM GALORE !
and then the "no coded" argument. if artpacks could be added on pouet, then nearly EVERYTHING could. like scene music releases, graphic entries from parties, and all that stuff. pouet would become not a DEMOscene ddatabase, but a all-scene database. and pouet already has problems being slow in handling and stuff, imagin what would happen if the database grove twice as big.

Perhaps it's time that some groups started producing slideshows. There are plenty on the Amiga, but there are only 3 on the PC worth noting.
jazzman is a troll
just like dipswitch, i know what i'm talking about as well, as i'm involved in the artscene as well.
i personally don't have a problem with artpacks on pouet, even though i understand why packs shouldn't be on pouet.
but dipswitch's argument is lacking in a way, since music and graphics stuff usually have some kind of link to the demoscene, whereas the artscene has NO link to the demoscene whatsoever. most artscene people have no idea of the existence of the demoscene, and demoscene people seem to think of it as a bunch of guys that can make a diz or maybe even an .nfo file for demos.
pouet would be loaded with artpacks if they allowed them, but at least pouet would be probably the first well-organized place for artpacks. i mean just look at the completely fucking pathetic efforts available now. the acid artpacks archive is a mess, and i don't even know about the others (if any).
anyway, as unssi would say, "STF U FAGOT U R GAY HAHA L0L0L0L0L UR MOTHER IS FUCK SHIT I KILL YUO FAKC U".

well, after all, my personal opinion is, pouet for demos and acheron (or whatever) for artpacks.
huh? i am pretty much sure most of ascii/ansi artists are aware of scene.. they're even in groups.
stop all this dissing shit baablabaha
it sux, as long as it a scene production made for sceners? or something , cool,
for once in a lifetime, I have to agree with cD_=(

i am not dissing ACiD (though they disappointed me big time stoppping to release textmode art). it's just about pouet's destination. there are enough other art-dedicated sites. pouet just cant stand for EVERYTHING scene-like.
oh, im so sorry, what I was trying to say was:

haha
_rm: I agree about the acid artpacks archive, i mentioned it to radman now that he seems to be coming back, not sure if he will try and fix that shit up.
There are some packs at http://www1.idledreams.net:8080/ansi/ that you can view online and shit, which is fun (but slow as limp baboon on heroin). Oh well.. im a newbie around here but i guess i agree with the general opinion about artpacks not having anything to do here. Though.. all the new artgroups (there are something like 15 active groups worth mentioning) are either releasing only textmode stuff or has the textmode released in a separate package (like iCE). And its not like it takes any space to store that.
