An Apology for my outburst a while back and a question.
category: general [glöplog]
I'd like to apologise to whovever I had a go at in my last thread about how I felt the scene had stagnated.
I did not intend to cause trouble, I wasn't in the right frame of mind to be posting here. :(
I hope you'll accept my apology.
Which brings me onto my question:
Does Pouet have a place for the non-scene people like myself who enjoy watching your prods?
As I stated in the other thread, I have been interested in the demoscene since I owned an Amiga 500 and was glad when I moved over to the PC to see the scene was active in this format too.
Is pouet all about the coders, or can those who don't know how to code but do know how to enjoy a decent prod visit and post messages / rate prods enjoy pouet as well?
Cheers.

its for demosceners i think, atleast so it says somewhere.
and by asking a thing like this we can easily figure out that youre not a demosceners, youre just a lame wannabe.
Comments from lame wannabes like you are never read carefully by demomakers anyways, so just go on and comment on stuff you have no clue about.

The vast majority of the people posting here are fortunately not "coders", so don't in anyway feel segregated away by your non-coding state.

and with stefan in the elite, one might as well take it as a compliment to be treated of lamer
i never said i was in the elite, i just told some facts.
oh you meant you think iam elite , well thank you then :)
i guess you meant its nice to be called lamer by someone who atleast knows what he talks about like me, wich you also (probably correct) stated is elite :)

lator is elite!
Is stefan always this negative? ;)
Stefan isn't in either TPB or Excess. This excludes him from eliteness
bah, only elitegroup members are elites!
Tomorrow will never die !
No matter how elite you are (or aren't), elitism still sucks.
Assuming that everyone who isn't a coder, wants to be one, is typical of the type of mentality behind elitism. The elite should be glad that some "lamers" are interested and entertained by their works, enough that they feel the need to post comments about them here. The scene is, and always has been, just as much about the consumers, as the producers.
If we are to say that one has to be a coder with godlike skills to post a comment here, what about all the artists, and musicians from l33t demogroups - they have no voice either?
Flame someone for their lack of skill, fair enough, when they deserve it. All too often here, I see that happening when they don't. We are all entitled to our opinions. Attacking someone on a personal level because your prod is not to their taste is woefully pathetic.
Perhaps I'm a better writer, than you are a coder - should I draw attention to your poor grammar? Should I not be allowed to post comments on demo's I like, or dislike?
The only real abuse I see on the pouet forums, and comments, is from people with no respect, and from prima donna l33ters who can't handle criticism. Anyone worth their salt can see when the author of a certain comment has no idea what they are talking about, drawing attention to it, and kicking off a flamewar, only serves to make us all look fools.
Some people just need a hug.

Is pouet all about the coders -Which is better than being all about the Benjamins (oh wait, that doesn't fly for some people).
You forgot the people who do music and pretty pictures. People already told you that, but I felt I had to drone on about it anyway. :)

Well, "It's all about the coders, musicians and artists" doesn't have the same ring to it. ;)
Point taken though.

stefan: hush now.. you are not qualified to say who is leet or not, being a teenage beginner yourself. let the grandpas decide for you whos leet and whos not, ok?
kisses darling.

thg> the grandpas are lame , so i dont think they have any right to speak :)
BloodyL ...feel free to comment. your oppinion are as valid as anyones. Look at it like this. Music critics in magazines rarely make music on their own on a large scale. Their oppinion are no less valid for taht reason. Art critics rarely ever made their own paintings...etc..
Your oppinion are your oppinion nomatter what knowledge you have, because it all boils down to.
Do I like what im looking at...
'
some will judge from how hard it was to make or the technique used...but for me, it is what i see on the screen and hear on my hifi that counts. Not what API or set of commands the coder used...
