SO LONELY.

The funny thing is that I used to call me a newbie for a long time, even 3 years after I joined the scene, e.g. "I am a poor noble newbie, please don't eat me" and stuff,.. it just came like this cause I didn't felt that I had coded any serious thing, but it was my fucking perfectionist and more..

My greek friends told me I shouldn't call me a newbie, if I was a newbie then what the hell were they and stuff?! ;)

But it was funny and continued, but I know I am not a newbie, since I am more than 3 years in the scene, not coding something serious yet, but at least having friends, going to greek parties, websites, obssesion and anyways..

So the thread made me remembering this and I wrote it. But I am not a real newbie, it was just my self playing, or perfectionism. I want to see more posts now, to learn who are the real newbies here, newbies are phun =)

I know what you mean about perfectionism, Optimus: I've been making my "first demo" (on my own, yes) for a few years now, although I've probably thrown away about 2 demos worth of material in the mean time. Why release it when it sucks so bad? :) Also in that time I've changed from OpenGL to Direct3D to OpenGL again, picked up and dropped DemoGL a couple of times (not DemoGL's fault, I just suck when I don't understand everything that's going on!) and cursed at how much of my school-day maths I've forgotten in the years since I left. (Forgetting the derivative of sin, what was I thinking!) I've also been through 3 trackers on the way to making the one tune which was about my 8th go at making "scenish" music, I've made a load of graphics and 3d I've just had to trash cos it doesn't fit the theme... but at least it's going somewhere now.

In the mean time I've eaten most of the Pouet archive, and could probably mirror it if I had a better connection... The plan was to not make any posts to csipd or Pouet or whatever before I released something but it's hard when you care about something so much, and there are some seriously cool prods that you need to thumb-up... Everyone's been nice and positive when they've replied to me hassling them for info etc, no-one kicked my ass for my article in Hugi, or any thumb-downs I made. Although I did have a really funny email from one person something like "Why are you bothering me? a) Just for kicks, b) You're an enthusiastic newbie, c) You are a genetic dead end who likes to have sex with farm animals. If it's B I guess you're OK" :) (The answer, by the way *was* B) Although that was April, and I was supposedly "almost finished" with this demo then... hm. Well I'm going back to it now, and maybe it will be ready for SE2K3... ;)

I'm a newbie, too... almost one month on the scene. Have no idea about C, OpenGL or Direct3D, so I made my first demo using DarkBasic...

It sucked!!! Optimus knows it...

But I NEEDED to upload it!!! can you undestand me?...

Now I'm learning C++, buying books (although there's not much Spanish bibliography... Downloaded OpenGL tutorials... (hard for a beginner)... and I'm spamming a poor scener!!! (sorry me, Stehp... ;) )

And my girlfriend hates me!! She says I'm crap. But I found something fun and constructive to do!!!

I love the scene. Hope you all love it as I do...

Let's kill all the internet and dig up all those broadband cables! Buy yourself a good old modem and start spread those AT&T calling card numbers again. What's the fun with watching demos that haven't been downloaded illegal during several hours??
