"Which is better", for what?
By the way, what's the purpose of having an video playback, and waveform editor, few text documents and a gl teapot rotating at 200 fps at the same time?????? Really.

freedos is an excuse for a support person being too lame to setup linux for brand new dells.
And also an excuse for warez kids not to pay for the windows license when buying those brand new dells...

Operating systems are a very overrated aspect of computing.
First of all, they should just take care that the software works together and get out of the way. Nothing else.
And second, they all suck in that. Different OSes just suck in different ways, and that's why it is possible to choose the least sucky alternative for a given purpose.

I would! But unfortunately my 486 laptop doesn't have a CD-ROM drive so installing it would be too much of a pain in the ass.
Installing FreeDOS only needs one bootable floppy (just like MS-DOS). The stuff that doesn't fit on the boot floppy is excessive bloat anyway.

I did, used it to set up an oldskool demo pc.

do you know a japanese mag that would be called "Linux 100%" and would have asked the demomakers to make MEGADEMO-SHOCK to japanese brain ?
