- To anyone asking about open-sourcing the synth.. the reason I haven't bothered yet is that I've been concentrating so hard on the new one that I never got round to making the old one user-friendly enough to tempt people to work with it (more to the point, I'm sure they're more interested in the new one).
That said, one person now has SVN access to it and has successfully built it and played with it. If you want it and you're planning to make a demo with it, just email me at giles@spacepigs.com with a username and password, and I'll set up an SVN account.
I WILL o/s the new one after we've made two demos with it, whenever that is... as long as it doesn't end up dominating synth music compos like V2 :-) To echo Sole, who wrote her own synth for the breakpoint synthmusic compo, Come on guys! Synth music is as much about the synth as the music! Write a bloody synth!
I could recommend a couple of good books on synth design and DSP and give you some source code to work with for anyone who's interested. - rulezadded on the 2010-10-29 16:02:23

Although it's missing one very important feature... pouet thumb!! - isokadded on the 2010-10-24 20:55:52

- Very very nice. Really nice visuals, although even with full multisampling/antialiasing, I got a bit of moire on some of the textures.. weird.
Love the style though. Perhaps a little long :-) - rulezadded on the 2010-10-24 20:41:32

- I admit, the music was similar to previous ASD stuff, but saying "It's not my cup of tea, again". Ok, you don't like that style of music. I'll see if I can get hold of kewlers to do some traditional demostyle techno soundtracks over the top of ASD demos for people who don't like progressive rock.
It fit with the storyline beautifully and each movement emphasised the content. Clearly a lot of work went into it. If you're moaning about the style, then tough luck. People have different tastes. Others can appreciate all styles. - isokadded on the 2010-08-07 23:43:36

- Finally!!! someone greeted us! Not only that, we got greeted in a kick-ass 64k! :-) Good effort guys.. some nice textures, a really tight physics engine, and some really good ideas on how to exploit it. Really good shit from you, and glad that 64k is still alive. Looking forwards to competing with you in 2010 :-D
