- demo Amiga AGA Shake Off The Dust by Elude [web]
- Thanks for the comments. The whole point of this demo was to move from scene replayer. Lack of graphics is mainly my fault (speed/time reasons). will do better next time;) About darkness, some of it will be corrected in the final (available soon). Amiga we used at the party had really insane color setup.

Quote:just watched it on my A4060/50, not incredibly fast but it was still enjoyable! :)
good to hear.
@kasie
catch me on irc on weekend and maybe we will be able to sort it out.
@d0DgE
Quote:Pitty though, that it ended with what was supposed to be the peak.
actualy the last effect was supposed to be a "cherry on top" and we were completely out of time to add anything else (including color). it was finished at the party.
@rasmus/loonies
Quote:i like the direction etc. but i fail to see the point of doing slowmo demos on ancient hardware instead of just compiling it on pc (and perhaps at higher resolution).
i would say it was quite snappy on "fast" amiga. wasn't slower than usual amiga demos with bit more demanding fx so have no idea where this comment comes from. and a part about compiling it for pc is simply weird. would have to try more than that to impress people on pcs. some try to push more demanding stuff on pc, some still find fun in doing it on amiga

- @xeron morphos is priviliged because it's the system i develop on, but on other systems you just have to add some magic switches to make it use cybergraphics and ahi. iirc -cgx and -ahi should be enough. it's same with previous productions

sure, but we were really short on time with it. lots of stuff is still in C (tho it's pretty optimized) waiting for a final.
@xeron
obviously. video is recorded with constant 25fps. but even on real amiga (it was ran on 060/66) it was really watchable. i don't have anyone to test it on 060/50so can't comment on that. still should be faster than previous one:)

- video should be available soon (probably till friday). currently available archive might have problems due to great hurry it was prepared in. i sent bit fixed one to party organizers. memory requirements are around 32 MB (maybe few more).

- @london superhero: no, maybe post-final will run on 32mb (current one needs 31MB of free mem to start here). not to mention that it realy really requires 060.

- @StingRay: i kind of agree, but (here comes the excuse) it's all about time. work takes quite big share of it. and not only mine but all other members. we could keep it at home and not release it, but i have bad feeling it would lie there forever, soo... Still, i kind of like it anyway:)
@d0DgE: sound support was done few hours before leaving home. Using sample instead of mod replayer was something i didn't do before. not even talking about writing own sound replayer. one thing responsible was bug in decoder (or encoder, we didn't decide yet with the original decoder author:) and second only 8bits per sample. not talking about adpcm compression which takes it's share. anyway, lesson taken, will be better next time (this binary has 14bit sound and fixed decoder. also optional ahi output)
@nytrik: not really. voodoo3 in my pc won't give much more possibilities:) - isokadded on the 2007-04-12 11:36:53

- this executable version should have better sound quality than the one at the party. video with proper sound will be released today or tomorrow. sorry for crappy audio (especialy to Chromag). Abount working under emulation, i will try to correct that too. use some patience...
