- 4k Windows artificial incident by Still [web]
- I think comparing the particles in-between prods is a little useless. Dumping k-particles to the GPU is no longer a worry (even my crappy 9400M can handle up to 4 million on-screen in realtime). It's more about the simulation that runs on these particles. If he had 1M particles under SPH on-screen at that speed, I'd indeed say his implementation must be better (and smaller) than Smash's. But, I don't see any SPH there.
On the other hand, the prod is a little too random for my taste. The background looks too out of place and the particles are freaking particles. Meh. - isokadded on the 2011-08-15 15:20:26

- 64k Windows uncovering static by Fairlight [web] & Alcatraz [web]
- Such an amazing show from Fairlight once again. And, this is easily the best 64k so far. Love everything about it. Although, I have to say, it did lack some life in there. Everything was a bit too static. Nevertheless, amazing, groundbreaking show. Respect.

- 4k Windows Coder Porn! by Archee [web]
- Great physics, though where's the intro? And the porn part doesn't really work for me. :P
Still though, thumbs up for the physics alone. - rulezadded on the 2011-08-06 21:56:44
- demo Windows Spin by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- Amazing demo, awesome style. Really, really amazing demo. But those vocals… Argh. It totally killed the demo for me. But the direction, the visuals and the content were all top quality as usual.
Still in deep awe. - rulezadded on the 2011-08-06 21:54:15
- demo Windows The butterfly effect by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- For some reason, I too belong to the same folk who smells Fairlight all over this demo. So, I have to say even though the visuals are pleasing it still feels a bit like a copycat. I don't mean it in a bad way, though; I really like the demo.
As for the "I can do it too, in 30 FPS" deal, I have to say this really isn't even close to being on the same class as Fairlight's particle based demos; not technically (and as a consequence nor visually).
However, again, I really just tell these as constructive criticism and I don't mean to hurt anybody.
Finally, this demo grew over me for its amazing soundtrack. I love the emotional and somewhat sad touch the soundtrack carries. It just made me happy to listen to it. Lovely work on the soundtrack, kudos.
Overall, it deserves a big thumb up! - rulezadded on the 2011-07-25 01:33:17
