- demo Amiga OCS/ECS In the kitchen by Anarchy
- What a soundtrack! And that first Facet image (the one used in this entry's descriptor above) is one that definitely made a huge impact on me when I saw it all those years ago. Totally agree with Optimus that the scroller with the bouncing balls was a great effect. Nice color choices and beautiful design all-around; typical for Anarchy... their demos always had a real sense of fun and polish about them that made them a joy to watch. Classic.

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS State of the Art by Spaceballs [web]
- Often heralded as the greatest Amiga demo ever made (good arguments for and against both ways), it sure made a *huge* impression when it came out over 10 years ago. My friend invited me over to his house at the time to check out this "amazing new Spaceballs demo" he had just downloaded. I had a 386/33 PC at the time, and the demoscene was virtually nonexistent on that platform, so when he popped this in and the purple girl silhouettes appeared, with the Vinnie-tracked loadertune (basic, but effectively gets you in the mood for what's to follow), I knew I was about to see something great. Just the way the screen cycled from white to purple, scaling out to reveal a hand was really cool. Even though there's nothing all that special about the effects, their execution is top-notch, and well-synched. Using ancient interference effects with the (what I'm guessing is) rotoscoped dancing animations, along with one of Travolta's most memorable tunes, combined to create an experience that was tough to match at the time. A comment most often heard was that it was good enough to put on MTV. Seeing it today on bigger monitors, I always feel like that final strobe sequence is going to give me a seizure. :) Definitely a classic, and deserving of a:

- demo Windows I Feel Like a Computer by Melon [web]
- Stands out from the crowd, as most Melon productions do. Didn't realize just how distinctive it was until I went to THS and saw the screenshots on the mainpage set with all the other demos. Vibrant and pleasing designs, a tightly knit and funny little story, and despite all the knocks this demo's received because of the music, it fits what's going on. I do agree, however, that if ripped elements were going to be used, credit should've been given to the source. Still, a true standout production. I like the muffled music in the early ocean sequence... nice little nod to Jaws.

- demo MS-Dos Stars: Wonders of the World by NoooN
- "classic (kla-sik) - serving as a standard of excellence." Damn right. If any of my Amiga friends didn't have PCs yet at the time, this demo made them go out and buy one. Tight. 10/10.

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Wicked Sensation by Tristar & Red Sector Inc. [web]
- Nostalgia for real. The soundtrack is one of the most famous, and for good reason (especially the credit theme). Peachy's art, though, is some of the best I've ever seen... the very cool TRSI logo and as Wade mentions, the Sheryl Lee pic, which made many an Amiga owner's jaw drop. Everything that guys like him, Facet, etc. did just ruled, and holds up to this very day.

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS seeing is believing by Anarchy
- Watched this again for like the millionth time last night... another great, classic demo. The early 90's were such a great time for demos, and prods like this are the reason why. Nuke's music is amazing, especially the maintheme! The design, text choices, and super-clean and efficient effects all blend together beautifully, too. One of my favorites... very underrated.

- 64k Windows fr-030: candytron by Farbrausch [web]
- Great work, guys -- the demo says "Farbrausch style" through and through. The music also sticks in your head after only one listen, which is pretty rare in a demo... even more rare in a 64k prod. I like that this version has more effects in it... rooty, but futuristic and stylish at the same time. Excellent.

- 64k Windows Zoom 3 by AND [web]
- Looks better than a lot of >64k demos, which shows how far 64k demos have come in such a short amount of time. The same can be said about AND's 4k entry, which also packed a lot into a really small space. In fact, I liked the music in the 4k demo better than this. As for the speech, even if it uses the Windows API, I think the execution is flawed, since it doesn't sound all that cool... I liked the voice implementation in Farbrausch's Candytron much better, and fit the style of the demo, too, which I think is more important than just doing something for the sake of doing it. Overall, though, this thing is really impressive, even when you have high expectations going in.

- demo Windows ix by Moppi Productions
- This sunlight effect looks damn real in this thing, giving these scenes a nice feeling of real atmosphere. Classic and distinctive Moppi style all the way, with nice touches of humor strewn throughout as well. Great work!
