- VIC 20 Retina Display by Akronyme Analogiker
- Slideshow for yet another new VIC20-graphics mode (192*416 hires, 96*416 multicolor). 79872 pixels on a VIC-20 - nearly 25% more than the C64.
Watch on YouTube
Works ONLY on a real NTSC VIC-20 with at least 32K expansion, NOT in VICE, since VICE does not emulate the interlace feature of the 6560 (yet?) - isokadded on the 2012-07-22 05:09:31
- VIC 20 VIC can again by Akronyme Analogiker
- You mean Yes VIC can, I guess. That one did 208x256 hires or 104x256 multicolor on an PAL-VIC20 and people asked for an NTSC-version. But the NTSC-VIC-chip has different number of rasterlines and cycles per line, so it needs a different program. The NTSC-VIC-chip also supports hardware-interlace, which allows for a higher resolution. So the knowledge of last years production combined with the wish to use the interlace feature lead to this. But since interlace is very difficult to use with projectors and the end-result IS just another VIC-20 slideshow (which I did last year) I decided to release this only out of competition.

- VIC 20 VIC can again by Akronyme Analogiker
- Please find a YouTube Link for your viewing pleasure. Took some time to record and convert so it would look good on YouTube. I also updated the download-archive, since I found a minor bug in the loader. It would only work on 32K not 24K-expansions before. Since some fastloaders use BLK5 these were affected as well.

- VIC 20 Yes VIC can by Akronyme Analogiker
- I've got to correct you, there's no editor for this mode (yet?). You may think of the FCB-mode by tlr, who has also done an editor for that mode, but that's a different horse altogether.
This mode here was just created earlier this year. It is a color-improvement of my MAXIGRAFIK-mode which was revealed last August. See VIC-20 Denial forum for more info. - isokadded on the 2011-05-02 02:42:12

- The vid was a requirement of the compo and the archive has been uploaded to scene.org by the party people I guess (not me). I will put a version without the vid, but with the source-code and probably some more pics on the VIC-20 Denial forum soon.

- VIC 20 Yes VIC can by Akronyme Analogiker
- Yup, it's a new full-screen graphics-mode that uses nearly all CPU-power to display. Usually the VIC can display only 80x192 with 3 fixed colors per screen and 1 color per 4x16 block. This mode offers 104x256 and 3 fixed colors in each of the 256 lines plus 1 color per 4x8 block. So much more colorful and larger pictures.
The pictures are conversions. The converter itself is a piece of magic not done by me. I'm sure some talented graphician could even improve on those and fix some conversion bugs that are hard to avoid. - rulezadded on the 2011-04-25 23:10:00

- WOW! This video literally *grabbed* my attention at the Revision party while I was innocently getting a beer. It sends chills down your spine and leaves you with a sensation of fear. Brilliant!
Also it looks like a video from the band "Tool" - intentionally? - rulezadded on the 2011-04-25 22:59:43
